Foam Stored Pressure Fire Extinguisher
Welcome to Trinity World
A fire extinguisher is an active fire protection device used to control or extinguish small fires in case of emergency. This cannot be used for large or out of control fires. A fire extinguisher is mainly a portable type or hand held pressure vessel in mainly cylindrical shape which contains chemical / mixture / agent which can be discharged to extinguish the fire. Stored pressure and cartridge operated are main two types of fire extinguishers. In stored pressure types, the expellant is stored in the same chamber as the firefighting agent itself. With dry chemical types of extinguishers, Nitrogen, while in water & foam type fire extinguishers, Air is used as an expellant. Stored pressure type fire extinguishers are most common & widely used in the industries. Cartridge – operated extinguishers contains the expellant in a separate cartridge which is punctured prior to discharge. They have an advantage of simple & prompt discharge, allowing an operator to recharge it after discharge it in a very reasonable amount of time. These fire extinguishers used compressed nitrogen gas instead of nitrogen. However, Nitrogen cartridges are used on low temperature models.
